New additions to MOOM, May 2018 Edition

Hi there! I’ve been quietly adding material to the MOOM beta course, preparing it for a “finished product” release. For those of you who aren’t following the forums I wanted to give you a quick summary update.

Two new Capacitor Sessions pairing videos added!

While Betsy and I have nearly completed recording these sessions, publishing the videos is trailing behind because of the time taken by post-production. Each pairing session video goes through an editing process where we create session notes, remove interruptions and dead air, speed up slow silent coding sections, and spotlight the live video for discussions. This takes a lot of time, but I think it’s worth it because it results in a more watchable and information-dense video.

Scripts and code added for all topics!

Have you been waiting to see the code for one of the lessons? Do you prefer text to video? Well, your wait is over. All of the video lessons now have an expandable “Script & Code” section below the video.

You can now click to expand lesson script and code listings

Further reading and exclusive discounts

There’s a new “further reading” section with links to recommended books and courses to continue your OOP education. The best part: we’ve secured exclusive MOOM student discounts for most of the resources listed, totaling almost $300 in savings!

Q&A Session videos

We’re in the process of adding all of the recorded Q&A sessions into the course. Why is it taking time? Because we’re not just adding the videos. We’re providing full, hyperlinked show notes for the topics discussed—meaning you can click on a topic to skip directly to the relevant point in the video! It’s taking some time, but I think you’ll like the end result. Check out Q&A #5 for an example.
